Jerry & Rachel Wyatt III
Faith Baptist Church

If you want to witness a multi-generational family impact for missions in Africa, then this is your trip. Jerry Wyatt III grew up on the mission field and was called back there to serve with his wife Rachel and their four children: David, Kate, Andrew, and Lauren. Their church is now two decades old, and you will spend time working alongside Tanzanian believers who have been saved for years, as well as some recently saved at MMO clinics, stadium crusades, public school ministries, radio ministry, or other outreach ministries of this vibrant church. These new believers have incredible opportunities for discipleship and growth; Faith Baptist Bible College exists to train the next generation of Tanzanians for Christ!

Why has Pastor Jerry hosted MMO clinics for so many years now? He shares that the healthcare needs of his community are so pressing that hardly a week goes by without someone coming to him for medical help. To be able to bring in a team of professionals who will meet the needs of the underserved so that the church can make them feel loved and cared for opens the doors to gospel conversations that they might not have otherwise. The church’s goal for this week is to see fruit that would remain and allow church members to grow as they serve. Pastor Wyatt also shares that he loves the openness to the gospel in his corner of the world. This is something we want to be a part of!

Tanzania is a land of opportunity locked in poverty. It is a beautiful country of tree-lined beaches and undulating hills, boasting the tallest mountain in Africa on its border with Kenya. The people are friendly, welcoming, and resilient. Morogoro is at the base of the magnificent Uluguru Mountains; it is a bustling agricultural town with one of the best produce markets in Tanzania, selling a wide variety of grains, fruits, vegetables, and meats. There are also many non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Morogoro, with focus on HIV/AIDS, environmental issues, education, orphans, and vulnerable children.

Our plan is to offer medial and optical care to this community. If you are a dental or physical therapy professional interested in potentially serving on this team, please fill out an INTEREST FORM to inquire about offering this service. Every patient who receives care will hear the gospel from a member of this local church.

Christine’s take on Tanzania:

  1. If you have not yet been to Africa, sign up for this trip! No, really. Do it.

  2. One of my favorite memories from this trip was the fun group of ladies I sat with in service, ate lunch with, and then served alongside during the week. They laughed at my pitiful Swahili, but in the end, we made ourselves understood and praised God together for all He did that week.

  3. It’s hard to not stop and stare in awe of the incredible mountains in the background all week. But there is a ton of work to do–this is one busy clinic!

  4. The Wyatts are unforgettable and you will be forever grateful to have the privilege to serve by their side, even for just a week.

  5. I’m not a soda drinker, but Brandon told me to try the Stoney Tangawizi, and he was right! Put this down on your list.
