My Story

My pathway to becoming an Associate Missionary has not been an obvious one. However, looking back on my life, I can see that God had a plan and He was uniquely preparing me to work as a physical therapist on the mission field.

It started long before I became a Christian. At the age of eleven, God put a deep desire within me to become a physical therapist. After graduating from high school, I was delayed two years in getting accepted into the Physical Therapy program in Australia (my country of birth). I was devastated, but again, it was part of God’s plan – that detour necessitated two additional years of college studies. Little did I know that I would need those additional credits to receive my PT license here in the USA – but God knew!

I’ve been a PT for over twenty-five years now, practicing in both Australia and the US. During that time, I have had the desire to specialize in a particular area, but each time, the Lord has closed those doors. As a result, I have been exposed to many facets of the profession, giving me a broad base of skills. On the mission field, you never know what God will send your way, and it’s these broad skills that have helped me serve others during my trips with MMO.

Looking back, I can see how God was working all along to bring me to a place of humbly wanting to serve Him. I am so grateful for this opportunity to GO and spread the gospel to the ends of the earth.

As a Physical Therapy Coordinator, I will help grow MMO’s physical therapy department by encouraging others to join or support us in our endeavor. This will include promoting and recruiting team members who can participate in the discipline of physical therapy and leading volunteers on physical therapy teams while on the mission field.

My prayer is that you would consider partnering with me in this mission in one of three ways. Will you pray for me, the other providers and volunteers, and the patients we will see, that they may receive not only physical but spiritual healing?  Would you consider joining me on a trip and experiencing first-hand how God is using this ministry to reach the lost?  Would you consider giving so that more people can be reached?  My initial goal is to be able to participate in at least three trips per year. Because I will continue to reside and work in North Carolina, your donations will go entirely to the expenses of my ministry. Whichever way you may choose, I am beyond grateful for your support and encouragement!
