The Waddells 

We are excited to join in the work of Medical Missions Outreach by working with local churches across the world to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ using the tool of medicine. We will be leading optical clinics, offering no-cost eyeglasses to the  church’s local community.  Those glasses will help each patient see better physically, but far more importantly, every patient will then be presented the gospel in their heart language by a member of their local community.

MMO was established in 2003, and is instrumental in assisting local churches throughout the world in evangelizing their communities. Each year, MMO clinics draw thousands of people to medical, dental, and optical clinics, where they experience relief from physical symptoms. MMO clinics are short-term, but because of the partnership with local churches, who not only share the gospel but also follow up with each patient, the impact is eternal. Through the work of MMO and partner churches, thousands of people receive eternal salvation each and every year.

We have been uniquely blessed to join MMO on a part-time basis, while maintaining our full-time careers. We’re attorneys - but we hope you won’t hold that against us! As odd as it may sound, working in law has provided us with unique skills to lead optical teams. Every day, we work with individuals facing challenges in their lives, creatively providing solutions for the issues they are facing, and working with them to achieve those solutions. The problem solving and interpersonal skills we’ve honed in law practice will be put to use every day in the field.

In our role as Optical Leads, we plan to lead 4-6 teams each year. Before trips, we will train and communicate with these optical teams. In the field, we will oversee clinical setup and logistics as well as lead the team of volunteers to serve as many people as possible in the time we have available.

We are looking for like-minded Christians to partner with us in this ministry. Your prayers are the most important thing you could give us, and we ask for those above all. We also need financial partners. Because we will continue to practice law as we travel with MMO, your donations will go entirely to the actual expenses of our ministry. We would also love the chance to serve alongside you on a trip–this is something you can do, too!
